Milestones

I haven't been the best at keeping the baby book filled in with each new milestone or funny memory.  But today, December 2, 2011 will never ever be forgotten, even if I never write it in the baby book.

We had our first steps today, El!

Mama was sitting on the bed working on some homework while you sat on the floor contentedly pulling all your shoes from the bin and clapping them together.  I saw you stand up, which is something that you've been doing for a few weeks now, standing without having to pull up.  I heard you squeal and when I looked at you, you had a big grin on your face and took five steps, crossing the distance from your shoe bin to my bed.  You walked!
You just laughed and laughed while mama cried and laughed with you.  It was such an amazing moment, baby girl, and I am so thankful that I was here to witness it.  I have my moments of guilt when I miss little things you have learned due to working and going to school.  But I got to be here for the big one.  It almost feels as if you had saved it just for me sweet baby.  Like you knew that this one was the perfect one to share with mama.
